Mark Carroll - Founder, Slate Island Realty

Background

Mark has 20 years of institutional real estate experience working with various property types and in many capacities, as noted below. In addition, Mark has more than 10 years of residential brokerage experience focused primarily in Hingham and Boston’s South Shore. Mark has built and renovated several homes in New England, managed multi-million dollar residential and commercial construction projects and negotiated the purchase and sale of residential and commercial properties totaling more than one hundred million dollars. This broad range of experience provides his clients a perspective that is unique among the residential brokerage community. Mark has assisted dozens of clients as a buyer’s agent and sold many residential properties in the greater Boston area.

Professional Experience

Prior to founding Slate Island Realty, Mr. Carroll served as Vice President of Acquisitions at Sovereign Investment Company which focused on real estate sale leaseback transactions ranging in size from $5 to $100 million. Mark established an office in the Boston area and was responsible for sourcing and underwriting sale leaseback transactions on the east coast. As Vice President at STAG Capital Partners, Mark ran the Sale Leaseback Group and was responsible for sourcing and negotiating industrial and office sale leaseback transactions throughout the US. Mark had oversight of the tenant credit underwriting function and served on the investment committee at STAG Capital.

Mr. Carroll worked for 8 years at United Gulf Management, a Kuwaiti investment company, where he was responsible for real estate acquisitions, joint venture development activities and portfolio management. Mark oversaw the formation of a private Real Estate Investment Trust (REIT) and was responsible for compliance with various accounting and tax regulations pertaining to the REIT.

Mr. Carroll also worked as a real estate development consultant and construction project manager for the Carlisle Consulting Group where he managed private and municipal construction projects throughout Massachusetts.  Additionally, Mark has served as a marketing consultant at Trammell Crow and a civil/environmental engineer at Camp Dresser & McKee where he worked on the Central Artery Project during the permitting and early construction phases.

Bridget Carroll – Sales Associate

 Background

Bridget has worked in a variety of roles in her career.  Her background in retail sales and marketing and her attention to customer service are strong assets for her clients.  She has assisted in the design of several residential renovation projects.  Her interest in fashion and interior design compliment her career in real estate.

University of Maine – Bachelor of Arts in Public Administration and Management

Southern Maine Technical College - Associates Degree in Respiratory Therapy

Licensed Real Estate Broker - Commonwealth of Massachusetts

 

Professional Experience

Bridget worked for several years as a respiratory therapist including assignments in the pulmonary departments, emergency rooms and neo-natal intensive care units at Maine Medical Center, Boston Medical and Beth Israel Deaconess Hospitals.   Bridget also worked for many years at the Patagonia outlet in Freeport Maine where she provided sales and marketing services for their US retail stores and mail order customers.  Bridget recently worked at Lululemon Athletica - assisting with the opening of their first East Coast retail location at the Derby Shoppes in Hingham.  She served in a marketing role as a community liaison and managed the ambassador program.  Bridget has worked as a massage therapist and guided whitewater rafting trips on the Dead and Kennebec Rivers in northern Maine.  Bridget is the mother of two young school-age children and volunteers in their classrooms during the school year.  

Bridget also works as a fashion advisor with Lia Sophia Jewelry.
